The Helicopter Foundation International (HFI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of vertical flight. HFI has more than 20,000 VTOL records, documents and related historical data, as well as the world's largest public display of scale model helicopters. These models, on display at the headquarters of the HFI at 1635 Prince St., Alexandria, VA, show the continued improvements in helicopter design, and the sophistication of the craft of scale modeling. Under HFI Curator John Slattery, the HFI collection continues to grow in size and importance.
Special thanks are offered to the many craftsmen, including Art Babiarz, Ned Gilliand, Bill Topping, Lloyd VJones, Thomas Krivacsy, Jim Matthews, Inima Siqueira, Pat March, Michael Rastello, and Pete Harlem who built models for the HFI collection.
