| About the Aircraft: The Kaman K20 Seasprite (SH-2F) helicopter is a twin-engine, turbine-powered helicopter used by the US Navy for multipurpose naval functions. Operational in the LAMPS ("Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System") mode, the SH-2F was configured with a sophisticated package of electronic and electromagnetic sensors and weapons systems for antisubmarine warfare and antiship missile defense. In addition to its LAMPS roles, the Seasprite performed the traditional search and rescue, medical evacuation, surveillance and reconnaissance and personnel transfer roles. |
